Perfil Profile

Soy arquitecto, graduado de la Universidad de Ibagué, en Colombia, donde fundé DIREMA. He trabajado en Colombia, Nigeria y Suiza: tres países, tres maneras de construir y una sola lección. Primero hay que entender. Lo que más disfruto es llevar un proyecto de principio a fin: leer el lugar, desarrollar el diseño, visualizarlo y finalmente construirlo.

I graduated as an architect from the Universidad de Ibagué in Colombia, where I founded DIREMA. I have worked in Colombia, Nigeria and Switzerland: three countries, three ways of building, and one lesson. Understand first. What I enjoy most is being responsible for a project from beginning to end, from reading the place to developing the design, visualising it and finally building it.

Qué hago What I do

DiseñoDesign Diseño edificios y muebles, desde el primer boceto hasta el último detalle. I design buildings and furniture, from the first sketch to the last detail.
ConstruyoBuild Construyo lo que dibujo: en obra para los edificios, en mi taller para los muebles. I build what I draw: on site for buildings, in my workshop for furniture.

MaterialesMaterials

Colombia lleva siglos construyendo con guadua, bahareque y tapia pisada. Suiza construye con hormigón y madera. Ambas tradiciones influyen en mi trabajo, y lo que más me interesa es dónde se encuentran. In Colombia, builders have used guadua (a type of bamboo), bahareque (wattle and daub) and tapia pisada (rammed earth) for centuries. In Switzerland, the tradition is concrete and wood. Both traditions influence my work, and what interests me most is where they meet.
